Who We Are

Since 1950, Gillan & Hartmann, Inc. has provided creative, economical and award-winning planning and design services. Headquartered in Mont Clare, PA, with regional offices in Delaware and New Jersey, G&H has completed over 3,100 projects with a total in-place construction value of nearly $2 billion in mechanical/electrical/plumbing/structural construction for public, private and commercial clients representing a wide range of businesses, industries and governmental agencies.
The firm’s strength lies in the ability of its professional staff to understand and synthesize the needs of the client with state of the art engineering solutions. Our approach to partnering stresses schedule and budget control and communications and service throughout all project phases including after construction.
G&H’s dedication to engineering and quality design has resulted in less than 0.5% of Construction Budget in design based change orders.
The design team at Gillan & Hartmann collectively recognizes the importance of implementing an effective Project Management Plan to ensure that a project is completed on time and within budget. The key to a successful project is the result of effective Management and Control procedures which must be integrated in every aspect of Project Planning.

History

Located on an 8.5 acre tract near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, the Gillan & Hartmann, Inc. corporate headquarters occupies a converted “1935-style” red brick school house, the “Olde Mont Clare School”. Designed and constructed by Gillan & Hartmann, the interior floor space was doubled to 24,000 sq ft. by transforming the gymnasium into multi-level office space and by deepening a basement crawl space. Exterior changes were minimized to continue the image of a neighborhood school. Renovations included window replacements, new HVAC, plumbing drainage, lighting, and improved parking lot. The renovation and adaptive reuse of Olde Mont Clare School to a modern office facility earned a “Planning Merit Award” from the Montgomery County Planning Commission as part of its Outstanding Land Development Awards Program.
